I'm a veteran of many a Chinese Buffet. This food is not meant to be nourishing but instead entertaining and novel. How many bright colors of glossy chicken can you think of? It's up to them to come up with some type of meatchunks-trapped-in-amber I'ver never seen before. The "over-the-top" style of many of the dishes here could have really won me over. In fact, this struck me as quite likely the most unhealthy-in-a-fun-way C/B I've been to, and they offer a "Buffet To Go" which is cool. (If you're wondering how close to all-you-can-eat this is, the styrofoam containers they provided held 53.6 ounces) Unfortunately, the cooks were off their game the night I went. Three of the dishes in my take-home were full of uncooked fructose granules, to the extent that one of my go-to dishes had a sandy texture. Oops. Peanut Butter Chicken - Let's say a friend came over and said: "Hey, I've got some chicken for you. After breading it with a savory batter and frying it, I dipped it into peanut butter. The whole thing is swimming in melty peanut butter mixed with sugar." Most people would tell their friend this was a bad idea and possibly illegal. But for some reason, at a Chinese Buffet you run with it. This was really good. Coconut Shrimp - I always look forward to seeing a steampan of this at a C/B, although one time I busted up laughing at the softball-size scoop of mayonnaise sitting on the top. Generally, coconut shrimp is a creamy, oily sweet delight. In this case, the shrimp themselves have great flavor, but the cooks messed up the sauce. The gritty chew of those fructose granules destroyed my coco-joy. Pepper Steak - A beefy, robust flavor echoes the American flavor of a nice packet of brown gravy, instead of providing traditional flavors you might expect. There were no unchewable bits in the steak, which was a nice surprise. Mongolian Beef and Chicken - It wasn't exactly tasty. The other dishes were fun in flavor if lacking in execution, but this one needs work on the recipe. However, it had none of the "lighter fluid" taste that often dominates the dish at a C/B. Pecan Chicken - This glows a flourescent yellow color, and that beyond-Kraft-Mac-n-Cheese chromatic instensity caught my attention. The flavor had a pleasant and indefinable nutty taste that sure didn't come from any pecans. Zero pecans didn't bring it down. Two bites did have a kernel of something tough. Those bites tasted just like cat food, but this added to the sense of adventure since the rest was delicious.

My wife and I recently traveled to IL. We stopped at the Hibachi Grill & Restaurant at Roundlake Beach IL. While we were there I noticed one of the workers taking the temperature of the food at all the stations. We were there for an hour during that time, the worker took the temperatures of the food several times. The buffet was clean, the food was hot, there was a large variety of food to choose from, including several seafood dishes. The price was reasonable we received a senior discount and the service was good. We will stop there again on our way through.

We come to the Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet several times a year. In my opinion this is the best Chinese Buffet in the immediate area. Like any buffet, it's hit or miss. By that I mean if you go on a very slow night the food my be sitting around for a while and may not be real fresh. However, if you go on a busy night everything is being turned over and is very fresh. I have been there on both types of night's. When you go on a slow night, stick to the Hibachi and Sushi. Both are always fresh. The hibachi is cooked fresh in front of you and the sushi is always being made fresh right in front of you also. Tonight was a busy night. I started with the Hibachi made my way with rice, chow main noodles, onion, tons of jalapeno peppers, tons of shrimp, steak meat, hot red pepper sauce, and garlic, finished with soy sauce. I then went for some of the awesome sushi. All different types, and then some Wonton soup, and finished off with four plates of fresh very hot Craw Daddy's. Everything was awesome tonight. The wait staff was very attentive and refilling drinks and removing plates. Great job tonight. I would recommend this place to everybody.

I'm giving it a 4-star rating IN COMPARISON TO OTHER BUFFETS. I don't really think this is a 4-star restaurant. I don't do buffets. However my young cousin was excited to take me here because she really likes it. So I went. I have to say, I was happily surprised. They have a nice selection of foods, much more than a usual buffet. It crosses many ethnicities. There's seafood, sushi, meat, rice, soups, egg rolls, chicken wings, etc.. and of course, desserts. The food seemed to be of good quality. I'm a very picky eater, so I didn't eat a wide variety (and I don't do seafood) - but what I had was decent. My favorite was the chicken wings. None of the desserts seemed that great, But the food was decent. The restaurant was clean. The waitress came around fairly often to refill drinks and remove plates. And they kept hot food in the buffets. Prices were fair, per person. Overall, if you're looking for "real" food, instead of fast-food, or you have a group of people who can't agree on where to eat - this may be a great option! For just $2 more than a fast-food drivethru, you can get a real meal! Worth trying.
